A Journey That Is Both Meaningful and Structured
Building a high-fidelity Montessori school is a significant undertaking.
It requires thoughtful planning, the right team, and a commitment to doing things the right way— from the very beginning.
At Fomento Schools, we’ve designed a clear, step-by-step process to guide you from initial interest to opening your school and beyond.
You don’t have to navigate this alone, but you do need to be prepared to lead.
This is a guided journey. One that rewards commitment, clarity, and purpose.
STEP 1: Explore the Opportunity
Your journey begins with understanding whether this opportunity is the right fit.
You’ll learn about:
- The Pearlily Montessori® model
- Ownership expectations
- Investment and commitment
- The role you will play as an owner.
What Happens
- Inquiry submission
- Introductory conversation
- Initial qualification
This stage is about alignment— for both you and Fomento Schools.
STEP 2: Assess Mutual Fit
We take a thoughtful approach to selecting partners.
This is not about moving quickly. It’s about ensuring alignment between our mission, standards, and expectations and your own purpose, intent, and vision.
What Happens
- Deeper conversations about your background and goals
- Discussion of ownership model (Educator vs. Operator)
- Overview of financial expectations
We are looking for the right partners, not just more locations.
STEP 3: Review the Franchise Opportunity
As part of your evaluation, you will receive our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
This document provides a comprehensive overview of:
- The business model
- Your rights and responsibilities
- Fees and investment considerations
- The support you will receive.
We encourage all prospective owners to review the FDD carefully and consult with qualified legal and financial advisors.
Transparency and clarity are essential at this stage.
STEP 4: Secure Your Opportunity
Once you decide to move forward, you will enter into a Franchise Agreement and begin the process of developing your school.
Your agreement will define:
- Your territory
- Your rights to operate under the Pearlily Montessori® brand
- Your responsibilities as an owner.
Each agreement is for a single school, with the potential to expand over time.
STEP 5: Plan and Prepare for Launch
This is the stage where your vision starts to become tangible.
With our guidance, you will:
- Identify and secure a location
- Design and prepare your facility
- Recruit and build your team
- Complete training and onboarding.
This is a hands-on phase, and one of the most important.
STEP 6: Build Your Foundation
As your school takes shape, we work alongside you to ensure everything is aligned from operations to educational fidelity.
This includes but not limited to:
- Montessori curriculum alignment
- Classroom setup
- Systems implementation
- Team readiness.
STEP 7: Launch With Confidence
When you open your doors, you do so with a system designed to support both quality and sustainability.
What Happens
- Enrollment activation
- First families onboarded
- Full operational launch.
This is where your impact begins.
STEP 8: Grow Your School
Opening is just the beginning.
As your school grows, we continue to support you in:
- Enrollment growth
- Operational optimization
- Long-term planning.
Our goal is not just to help you launch, but to help you build something that endures.
Timeline Overview: What to Expect
While timelines vary, most schools follow a general development path.
Timeline Example:
- Exploration & Qualification: 1–2 months
- Site Selection & Planning: ~3 months
- Build-Out & Preparation: ~3–6 months
- Pre-Opening & Enrollment: ~2–3 months
From initial exploration to opening day, the process typically spans 9 to 12 months.
